A bump in the road...

Wednesday, April 15, 2015

blogging-bump-in-the-roadIm back from my trip to New York and had such an amazing time! Thank you to all those who left me tips and advice of places to go. Im planning a big travel guide post showing you all the places I would advise anyone visiting nyc to see!
First though I wanted to share something with you guys, I havent been blogging as avidly lately as I would like because issues in my personal life have been difficult. I admire bloggers who can put on a brave face and not share hard times on their blogs but my blog has always been incredibly personal. A diary of sorts and I find it hard to pretend things are all hunky dory when they arent. As I mentioned a while back in Jan/Feb time Dave & I had bought our first house together. I couldnt wait to get the keys and share the process of making this house our home here on my blog. We were due to get the keys at the end of Feb but at the beginning of March we found out that our sale had fallen through due to problems on the developers side. We were devastated, it was a new build house, we picked the kitchen, the floorings, the tiles, Id bought curtains and furniture for different rooms even ordered a washing machine to be delivered. We originally agreed to the house before it was finished back in October so it felt like a long time coming for us to finally get our first home only to be back to square one again.
I know it doesnt sound like a big deal but to us it was. At Christmas time we moved from our rented house to Daves parents packing all our stuff into storage to save the last bit of money we needed for our deposit & fees etc. Which makes this process of being back at square one that much harder. I know everything will work itself out eventually I just dont feel like being patient and waiting for that to happen right now.
Hopefully having talked/moaned about here on the blog will help. Thanks for listening! xo

  1. How annoying for you, but as my husband always say (and mind you he annoys me sometimes when he says it... but he is generally right in the end) everything happens for a reason... I bet there is an even nicer house waiting for you both out there and you just haven't found it yet. I'm sure it will all fall into place but until then try and stay positive.

    All things nice...

Our purchase last year took over 7 months to complete, it came down to the night before in the end & was horrendous but we got there in the end.
