I came up with an idea months ago for a mini post series for my blog featuring something of mine and something similar of Dave's. In many ways we are very a like but very different and I thought it might be fun to show this in photos.

For this first one: Music.
I listen to music on my Iphone - Dave listens to almost everything on vinyl.
I love Birdy, She & Him, Maroon 5, Bruno Mars - Dave loves The Dubliners, Blockhead, John Coltrane, Black Sabbath.
I cant play a single musical instrument & Im pretty tone deaf - Dave plays the guitar, irish tenor banjo, kalimba & mpc sampler.

Let me know if you like this mini series idea and Ill maybe post one weekly for awhile.

Its a complete coincidence that my background matches the colours of my outfit, this wasn't planned. In fact when I headed out with Dave to take these photos in the freezing rain like the crazy person I am I had no idea where we were gonna get shelter and light to take photos.
Then Dave the genius that he is :) remembered this little tunnel path that runs under the main road near his house. This kinda backdrop is not my usual style, I like trees, flowers, old building and bridges...soft and romantic-esque backdrops that go with my style but this graffiti brick seemed to suit this outfit to a T.

The slightly pouty expression on my face is due to the freezing winds leading me to clench my jaw.. most of the photos bar these ones looked like I was in serious pain. It was a fun process editing through all the images!

I promised yesterday that I would post an outfit post today even if I had to steal wifi from somewhere. I am currently sitting in a cafe drinking builders brew style tea making use of free wifi. All the name of my blog. lol...woe is me eh?
BT told me today the internet might not be fixed until this weekend that would be two weeks!

My poor blog has been gathering dust this week... Some of you who have been reading my blog for a while now will know that I live pretty much in the middle of nowhere in the Irish countryside.
I live where we expect our electricity to go off at least twice a year and where finding a cow in your garden isn't really that big a deal. So when a tractor crashed into a telegraph pole on my road and cut through the cable cutting off our phone and internet it wasn't surprising. The thing is cos we live in an area where the houses are far and few between BT doesnt think of us as 'high priority'. We have had no internet or phone since Tuesday!!
Im getting serious withdrawl symptoms! This post and Wednesdays giveaway post have been done by mooching at Daves!

Im trying to incorporate some different colours into my wardrobe than just the rust tones, but they somehow manage to creep into every outfit in some shape or form! I got me some new eye wear bling :) the lovely people at proopticals sent me this amazing glasses with my prescription lens in them! Pretty much the coolest thing Ive ever got sent thanks to my blog. I must say when I started blogging 2 years ago I never thought Id be doing it in two years time, never mind have achieved so much from it. Im so grateful for all the opportunities its brought me & all the friends Ive made from it.

Illustrated & Inspired...

So I mentioned on twitter the other day that there was going to be some pretty changes made to my blog which have been in the pipeline for the last month or so... Im so happy to reveal my beautiful new header to you guys! I had been toying with the idea of getting a header illustrated since last summer & I knew from the get go who I wanted to do it. Tabitha Emma is an amazing illustrator and graphic designer and was such a joy to work with.

Here are a few things that have caught my eye recently.
#01 Pretty sunlit photos, as the days start to get longer & the golden sunsets get more intense I love the idea of capturing it in outfit photos.
#02 These little pins are going on my birthday wish list! So cute!
#03 This girl has serious style and I cant get enough of her blog at the minute.
#04 Dave & I are still thinking we could end up living in Amsterdam for a while after he finishes his phd and if we do I NEED one of these beauties!

Gold Dust...

This post was meant for yesterday but yet again I was struck down with a migraine ( 3 in two weeks!) :( so it had to wait til today... I dunno why I havent blogged about this outfit sooner it is my go to outfit in a hurry and in the nippy weather. Knitted tunic, cosy cardy, velvet leggings and my fav sparkly head band. I dont think Ill ever get sick of these rusty colour tones...

As much as I loved dressing for this winter, rust, claret and mustard tones I am so looking forward to spring. Candy coloured pastels will be my weapon of choice! Ive found I dont really follow trends as such but I do get excited by new colours each season & that seems to be what I focus on. How to work the new season colours into my existing wardrobe.
The two colours for spring that Im a little bit obsessed with are coral and mint. All of these pieces featured are from Asos, I shop mainly online and spending at least 7 hours a day in front of a laptop means I end up checking asos's new items pretty much every day...yes I clearly have an addiction!!

Its a zign...

This take ten challenge was a little different, Zalando approached us and asked us to pick different pairs from the brand Zign. I think we picked these before Christmas and I was lusting after something warm, cosy, comfy and flat. A boot that went high enough up your leg that if the snow came like last winter I wouldn't end up with socks filled with snow and cold ankles.
Alas we had no snow and its relatively mild now but these babies are still one of my fav pairs of boots at the minute.

This wouldnt be a typical outfit for me, when I first put it on Dave turned to me and said ' I thought we were taking outfit photos today' and I said 'yes this is what Im wearing'. I do tend to stick mainly to dresses and skirts but sometimes leggings and a denim shirt are just too comfy to resist. I bascially live on a glorified farm or it feels that way, at one stage we had six horses and four dogs so a dressed down look like this wouldve been something I lived in when I was growing up.

What do you guys think of my new wavy hair? I got the Toni & Guy deep barrel waver for Christmas and I LOVE it! Its so easy and quick and lasts all day even with my thick heavy hair. Im well chuffed!

I first wore it on my blog here on holiday in Crete as it is very much a summer dress... but I was determind to filter it into my winter wardrobe & teamed with this cropped wine knit I think Ive found a way!

Sunlit Arches...

Ive been wanting to take photos in this spot for months, but its always so shaded and over grown with trees that I may as well take photos in a cave..but the other day I lucked out and I finally got my chance as the winter sun was low in the sky and freakishly bright.
I think these are my favourite outfit shots for a long time, when winter hits taking outfit photos becomes a fight against fading sunlight at 3pm and freezing temperatures. Its easy to become lazy and dependant on a nearby hedgerow or brick wall. Props to Dave my bf photographer who really did this location justice. xo

A different day...

I cant put into words how touched I am by all your sweet words and messages about the loss of my pop. You guys seriously are the nicest readers ever and I feel so lucky that you stop by my little blog. The funeral is tomorrow morning and I kind of feel like Ill be in limbo until then...

So on a separate subject...January is the time blog posts are filled with christmas present 'hauls' and January sale hauls. Ive never been a massive fan of sale shopping, too lazy to search through the rails but I do usually hit the asos sale. This year I got a big fat nothing! I was so disappointed. So with my little extra cash I bought myself a few new things I thought Id share with you guys.

Dexter series one, Ive heard good things about the show & thought it would be something me and Dave could watch together. Ghost World again never seen it but heard good things, Water for Elephants I loved this in the cinema and had to have it on dvd! Heart frame from Next which Ive added one of my fav photos of Dave & I. Orla Kiely Notebook for all my 2012 blogging ideas! Rimmel matt finish & khaki green polish. H&M cropped knit jumpers & striped jumper with metallic neckline. My Jumper collection is pretty impressive now but I think these colours will work well into Spring.

A time for reflection....

I have been starring at my laptop for what feels like ages trying to decide whether to write this post or not...I worried that maybe talking about this on the internet would be disrespectful. But my blog is a personal one, I talk about my week, what's new in my life and to not mention my current...sadness in itself feels disrespectful.
Yesterday morning my pop (my grandpa) as we call him passed away, it was sudden and a total shock to my whole family. He was such a wonderful grandpa and dad and we will all miss him so terribly...I last saw him on Christmas morning and it hasn't sunk in yet that I wont see him again...
Ill be spending the next few days with my family and preparing for the funeral.

Happy New Year everyone!!
This is my first post of the new year and as usual it is later than I intended it! My sister left yesterday to go back to Scotland, time seems to fly by while she is home. Ive been working on my new years resolutions, Ive never really taken them seriously before but this year I want too.
Here is my list:
#01 To cook something new with Dave every week, he's recently become a vegetarian so we both want to learn lots of tasty veggie meals to make. #02 Learn how to use & edit videos with my new video camera. #03 Write a diary #04 Take more photographs.

So this will be my last post for 2011... I have had such an amazing blogging year. I recently updated my Press section tab and seeing all my blog's achievements over the past year listed together made me kinda proud. Ive also had a great year in general... I had some amazing holidays over the summer, got a promotion in work and added a new member to our family in the form of Bentley the great dane pup.
Im trying to decide whether to do a break down of my whole year in a post, Tieka did an amazing blog post of her year that really inspired me to do one but it seems like a lot of work...
So for now Ill leave you with a little Instagram sum up. Ive only been an iphone user for a few months so Im still a newbie to Instagram but as Ive mentioned before Im hooked!

Im still working on my new years resolutions... I never usually take them seriously but this year there are certain things I want to achieve, learn and do. Embarrassingly some of them will be carried over from last year but this year Im determind!

Im off work for another week which is awesome... I have few plans bar spending time with family and friends which is just the way I like it...

What day is it? Im so confused... the Christmas period always passes me in a blur of turkey, movies, board games & falling asleep on the sofa. Yup Oh so glamorous!
I was spoilt rotten this Christmas, me & Dave bought each other freakishly similar presents... I bought him a pin hole camera, he bought me a mini polaroid printer to sync up with my iphone. I bought him a green retro casio watch, he bought me a mini gold casio watch. My parents got me a flat screen tv with freeview which looks so swish instead of my old 16" analogue tv!

I hope everyone is having a great relaxing day. I love how everyone has their own family traditions and routines on Christmas day. Our day consists of a big fancy breakfast with bucks fizz and chocolate followed by watching a Christmasy movie. We then give all our doggies their xmas presents which I wrap up every year then we dont open our presents until about 1pm (!) Then the usual massive turkey dinner, crackers, wine & more chocolate follow suit...
Then in the evening my next door neighbour & his girlfriend come down & we exchange presents with them..he is kind of like a second brother to me & now lives in Scotland so its always nice to see him on Christmas day!
How do you spend your day? Do you have a Christmas day routine?

I cant believe its only a couple of days til Christmas!? Time flies eh?
Ive been trying to inject some more festive colours into my wardrobe this week and this red rose dress is perfect! Ive already worn it again to a Christmas house party with lacy floral tights & glitter heels...

Im now off work for Christmas and am spending my days eating tin upon tin of quality street, drinking xmas coffee's, spending time with my family, doing some last minute totally unnecessary shopping and watching every festive film ever made.. even the really bad ones...

Ive heard other bloggers mention that creating these little Christmas wishlists and gift guides are addictive and I totally agree! Although now most of my family and Dave have finished their Christmas shopping I still couldnt resist sharing a few more things that have caught my eye. The Orla Kiely bag and Pashley bike will probably remain more of a dream than anything else, as their prices are a little too steep for me to justify treating myself to. But I am very tempted by the glitter boots from Urban Outfitters which remind me of the covetable glitter Mui Mui boot out this summer.

Ive just realised my blog title is also an S Club 7 song, and instead of changing it Im embracing the naffness cos back in the day S Club were pretty awesome.. come on who doesn't know the dance moves for reach for the stars? OK Im rambling yet again, its time for another Take Ten challenge!

This challenge was courtesy of House of Fraser and had a twist, the challenge was dress for a Christmas Party. Now usually with these challenges we work with a brand and all ten of us agree on a piece to style. Not this time! This time we would all wear different dresses and HoF would pick them for us! So we had no idea what dress we were getting until it arrived with the postman.
The dress they picked suits me to a T, I love the aqua colour, the chiffon sheer fabric, the peter pan collar and long sleeve.

Dress: Therapy c/o House of Fraser, Tights and heels: M&S, necklace: Accesorize, Headband c/o Crown & Glory.
I styled my dress with some lacy tights, glitter heels, a glitter head band and nipped in the waist with some black ribbon.

Did you notice I no longer have ombre two tone hair? I had my coloured last week and decided to get it coloured all one shade of rusty orange... I loved the blonde underneath but I found it dried my hair out and it tangled so much more easily. So for now & cos I love to change my hair shades constantly Im gonna stick with just red tones.

Gosh, I haven't blogged since Tuesday! Im slightly ashamed.. this time of year seems to fly in and my life becomes consumed with Christmas shopping, Christmas parties, decorating our house making it as festive as possible and meeting up with friends before the xmas break.

Next Friday is my last day of work and I will be off work for a glorious two weeks. My sister comes home from Scotland the same day so we have many plans made... including making festive alcoholic drinks, xmas cupcakes and wrapping all our presents. Last year I wrapped all mine with ribbon and candy canes, this year I have bought small sleigh bells to attach to ribbon for every present. Can you tell I love this time of year!?
Anyways enough rambling.. time for an outfit post!!

When this dress first arrived in the post a few weeks ago I knew I loved it, it ticks so many boxes for me. Rust colour..check. Quirky colourful print..check. Nipped in waist..check. I also love the soft drape fabric that gives it a slight sheen and is also oh so comfy to wear. I teamed it with my rust colour cardy and elbow length gloves as it is pretty much freezing here all the time now!

I am nearly finished all my Christmas shopping... just the odd wee thing to buy as stock fillers for my dad. But a lot of my family havent done theirs yet and have pestered me about what I would like...This year there isnt anything major I want but a few things have caught my eye, so yup its time for another xmas wishlist! Doesnt seem that long since I did this on my blog last year! Crazy!

Dave bought me this dress for my birthday last year and its still one of my favourite dresses... I dunno why I haven't photographed it on my blog before?! I think many attempts failed due to rain, general darkness and bad time management on my part. But here it is in all its glory. I just love the random oversized printed of zebras and hearts... with a slighter longer hem than other dresses and elasticated waist makes it almost as comfortable as pjs & a dress Ive worn for work, dinner dates, and even the zoo.. (thought it was pretty fitting for the zoo actually!)

Ive spent the weekend feeling very festive, attending my first xmas party, writing xmas cards, attending the continental Christmas market and eating an assortment of weird and wonderful foods from around the globe. Note to self... eating ones weight in food and then going on the carousel (which is pretty much just for children) only leads to travel sickness and nausea.
Today we also picked our Christmas tree up from a farm that grows them just a mile from our house, decorated it and chased Pixie my jack russell around the house as she decided to shred the metre of tinsel for the tree.

Its been awhile since Ive worn navy... it use to be a colour I loved and wore frequently but its been replaced with orange and autumnal tones. But this little dress with claret ribbon won its way into my over crammed wardrobe. I just couldn't resist!

I dunno about the rest of the UK or world but here in Northern Ireland the temperature has dropped and its now freezing cold! This time of year is particularly hard for bloggers like me who blog about outfits they wear or OOTD photos. Its dark all the time which means for me outfit photos can only be done at the weekend. But the one thing about taking photos at this time of year that I find really hard is the cold... the 'do i whip my coat off and brave it for 15 minutes of shivering just to get some photos where you can see my outfit properly or do I wimp out and keep my coat on and stay warm.'

Im a pretty bad secret keeper.. so when Company magazine contacted Take Ten a few months ago and asked us if we would like to feature a LBD Take Ten challenge in the December issue of their magazine it took all my will power to keep my big mouth closed!
Company chose this dress courtesy of Asos. My main concern was firstly making my styling different from all the other girls, a plain black dress shown 10 times could look 'samey' and also making a LBD me. I dont own anything black in my wardrobe..not even a cardigan or black skinnies..colour and pattern has always been my thing.

So a while back I showed you guys what I wore to the Cosmo Blog Awards, a gold sequin bodycon dress by tfnc. What I didnt tell you is they gifted me with this dress for a style challenge for their blog. They wanted me to style this dress for a more casual day time look. This kinda challenge suits my style down to a T, my style doesnt change much from day to night. Maybe a little more eyeliner and a pair of heels instead of flats but I tend to wear quite feminine dresses or skirts most days that could be dressed up or down very simply. Effortless and easy is my motto.
But a dress coated in gold sequins... is a pretty hard challenge to 'tone down'. I styled it 3 different ways and thought Id share the first look...

This my friends is a Spirit Hood, yup its not called a hat oh no it has coined its own term for this hat, scarf, bear eared thingy me jig.

One of the great things about the spirit hoods is when you purchase one they donate 10% of the profits to a non profit organisation specialising in helping that particular animal. So buy a bear hood.. save a bear.

I think this baby will keep my nice and warm when the snow comes, its mega warm and yes it attracts some odd second glances but I think thats just jealousy! lol. ;)

This is what I wore to the Cosmo Blog Awards in London last week... Jen & I snapped a few quick shots before getting on the tube (the oh-so glamorous way to travel esp in heels) I dont really like how these photos came out but I wanted to share them anyway. Bodycon has always been a very scary option for me.. showing and accentuating every lump and bump..but I just love the long sleeves and the matt gold sequins so I braved it!

When I was London I was lucky enough to be able to attend Next's S/S 12 press day. I get invited to these events and unfortunately due to living in Northern Ireland I dont get to go that often. So apologies for the slight overload of images from the event!

I loved pretty much everything Next is offering for Spring 2012.. Autumn is probably my fav time of year for dressing.. the knits, the layers, the accessories but after seeing all the sugary goodness at Next I want spring to be here now! My fav piece was the navy & pink apple print dress Ive shown above.. but they also had a whole rail of ice cream coloured lace, fine knit and sheer fabrics..Im not gonna lie it entered my mind to lift the whole rail and run for the door..

I had such an amazing time in London, I flew over to attend the Cosmo Blog Awards, my blog was short listed for best established fashion blog. I wasnt lucky enough to win but just being short listed was such an honor.
When I first started my blog I didnt have a clue what I was doing, I had an email address and a bebo (cringe) and nothing else..I honestly thought it was something I would do for a few months (or weeks) and then give up...But I got so hooked at developing it, at developing my style and meeting and talking to like minded creative people that now I dont think Ill ever stop! Mini Post: Glitter Tips...

So Im currently on route to London town for the Cosmo Blog Awards tonight..
Im so excited to meet some of my favourite bloggers! Some I met at fashion week some I have only seen graced across their blogs. Ive decided to keep a live diary of photos of my day from 9am in the hairdressers to well the probably slightly blurry end to the night. I wanted to share a few photos of how I did my nails for the night...
the dress code is 'awards ceremony' so glam is what I took I from that!

Clear Topcoat polish, Barry M Nail Affects gold, Barry M gold glitter

My nails on top of my dress for this evening.

I applied about 5 layers of the gold Barry M polish which is meant to give a foil affect..which I guess it did. Then I applied a layer of clear to 2 nails per hand and poured over loose glitter.
Tapped of the excess and applied a thick layer of clear polish over all the nails and an extra coat on the glitter nails.
My Dress is a bodycon gold sequin number so I thought the matt and glitter nails would look well against it. Ill be sure to upload all the photos on my blog when I get back this weekend. :) x

I joked on twitter today that I may have to get a boat home from work due to the insane flooding and storms here.. it wasn't so funny when I actually thought I was gonna have to abandon my car when two rivers burst their banks and flooded two of my only routes home.. I finally manage to get home after a little off roading ( not advised in a micra) to find my roof has sprung a leak and I now have a wet soggy bed..boo... I hate the rain..

This is a bit of a different look for me..If you've read my blog for awhile you'll know that Im known for overly feminine outfit posts..I tend to be pulled toward pretty prints, peter pan collars and floaty dresses. So when I got this dress from Romwe my first reaction was to thrown on my trusty pink bow belt, knee high socks and a flower head garland. But I decided to step outta my comfort zone and give it a harder edge..

My weekend has flown by in a blur...my little jack russell Pixie took what I can only describe as a funny turn on Friday night & I spent most of the night sitting with her and worrying about her.
The vet couldnt really work out what happened, she's 8 yrs old so kinda middle age for a jack russell. She seems much better now so Im just smothering her with love and spoiling her rotten..

When I first zipped up this dress it instantly said Alice in Wonderland to me.. the dusky cornflower blue colour teamed with the white piping and the double peter pan collar.. well I love a peter pan collar as much as the next girl but double anything is always better in my book! :)
This dress is by a brand called Dahlia, now they have been on my rader for awhile. The sweet shapes, vintage style prints and sugary feminine quality called out to me..literally everything from their site I want in my wardrobe!
I didnt wanna take away from the little details on this dress, so I teamed it with some spotty navy tights and my trusty pink bow belt. Although if it had been warmer I think it would look great with my white opaque knee high socks.

Got me an iphone4 today.. after two years on the blackberry curve I've finally switched over.. I have no clue how to work it..confession time: Ive never even owned an ipod!

I kinda embraced more grey than anything last winter so this year Im going for more oranges, wines, rust tobacco shades, tan and a bit of plum colour thrown in for good measure.
What colours are you embracing for autumn?

Also has anyone started thinking about halloween yet? My friends are throwing an Alice in Wonderland themed party this year and Ive been given the character of the Red Queen. Im totally gonna channel the make up from the Tim Burton film but I dunno what to wear!? Tempted to make my own costume but where to start!?

London Fashion Week: Day Two

So finally my second day of fashion week!

Me and my blogger bff Jen, we had such fun sharing a hotel room on the friday night.

Cool invites...

Jen and I attended the Ashish show, each garment was covered in sequins so my photos came out terribly..like walking glowing ghosts.. So here are some I didnt take! The collection was stunning, poppy, rose and sunflower prints mixed with checker board and stripes. Totally up my street!

My favourite pieces from the exhibition, stunning layers and fan style frills.

Jen and I attended the Republic store launch in Westfield Stratford, we were asked to pick our key items for the season and talk about them while being filmed for the Republic site.
I chose this art nouveau graphic print dress and gold oversized necklace. A shaggy fur gilet, laser cut claret coloured sheer shirt and leather high waisted shorts which they very kindly let me keep after!

Highlights of the day:

Being filmed and interviewed for BBC Persia (!!??)
Attending the Republic launch
Having my Mac make over c/o Mac at Somerset House

Only down point of the day was missing my flight home and having to fork out more money for a flight home the next day and money for yet another hotel room.. c'est la vie!
Was all worth it!1 Will definitely be going back next season!

So Id mentioned on twitter a few weeks ago and then again the other day that I had some exciting personal news to share with you guys and now I can finally reveal..
that we have a new member to our family!!!
His name is Bentley he is a 10 week old harlequin great dane. He is the cutest most affectionate pup, his legs are growing every day so he constantly falls over them as he lollaps about. I wanted to wait until he was old enough to leave his mum and arrive with us before I told you guys so I could share these first photos of him..

I have done basically nothing all weekend except sit and stare at him, play with him and take photos of him while he tries to sleep!!

Can you believe Take 10 has been going for over a year now?! Its crazy that just over a year ago some of these girls were strangers to me and now we are all such good friends..

Its a little glitzy for me but I think it'll be a cute little accessory for autumn..
I got my hair cut and coloured for a hair show the other day.. I got sucked in by it being free, I love the colour which you can really see in the last photo its three layers of colour. Copper on top, cherry red in the middle and blonde on the under layer. BUT... I hate the cut!
The guy really cut into my layers and the copper red layers are cut not far below my chin! Which looks really out of proportion with the blonde layer :( I washed it this morn and found it so unmanageable that Ive had to put it up in a top knot..

morale of the story a free hair cut..ain't worth it!!

London Fashion Week: Day One.

I didn't take anywhere near as many photos as I had planned at LFW there was just too much happening all at once..too much to take in.. too many people to talk to, tweet to.
It was madness and the best two days ever!!

They did win me over with lots of free champagne and crumpets thou.. Im anyone's best friend for food!

I am now back to regular scheduled programming now I promise!
I had such a blast at London Fashion Week on Friday and Saturday and as soon as I edit my photos I will have them up here to share. :) Until then I thought Id share this with you guys, the lovely ladies at Glossy Box sent me their Sept box one week before all the subscribers got theirs.
I know most bloggers posted about this last week but I wanted to wait and try out a few of the products first before I posted about it.

Inside my box: Dead Sea Spa Magik: Salt Brushing, HD Brows: Eye & Brow Palette,
Kimia: Rejuvenating Facial System, Neal and Wolf: Harmony Intensive Care Treatment, Plum Eau de Parfum.

So far I have already tried out the Neal and Wolf hair conditioner which is AMAZING!! Seriously since I have coloured my hair blonde underneath it gets tangled and dry very easily and this stuff works wonders and smells yummy!
Ive also tried out the HD brow kit which Im still getting use to but is so handy now that Ive cut my fringe slightly shorter and you can see more of my brows.

Oh so I didn't manage to get a ticket to the Look Show on Saturday but the lovely Jen nabbed me a goodie bag. Inside was a Miss Selfridge gift card for the Westfield Stratford, it says it could have £5-£100 on it and you wont know unless you take to the Stratford store. As I wont be there again Im offering it to the first person from London to email me their address.

These photos were taken almost by complete accident..Dave & I headed up to the North Coast of Northern Ireland on Friday afternoon the winds from the hurricane were blowing in. They were really warm so I quickly changed from opaque tights to this knee high socks... and we headed out to take Pixie (my jack russell for a walk) I took my camera to get a few landscape photos and the light was so great at dusk that we decided to take some impromptu blog photos..

Apologies for the lacking of blogging this week.. Ive had a headache then a migraine then another headache since Sunday and looking at a laptop just made it sooo much worse! Bad luck or what?!

Spent the weekend helping Dave paint his house...how do you get white paint outta your hair and from under your finger nails?

I have been wanting to get high waisted tapered trousers for Autumn for the past month or so..finding a pair was not so easy... Im pretty fussy when it comes to trousers ( I only have one pair that I actually wear) tapered trousers are everywhere but some are god awful on..some looked like a pair of work men pants pulled in at the waist..the stiff heavy fabric made my thighs look huge! I found it hard finding ones that fitted just right I tend to be between a size 8 and 10 so they were either too small or too big.
Then I found these babies..I love the fit and the shape..might have to get them in another colour..

A lot of red heads tend to shy away from orange..thinking it clashes or maybe even matches the tone of their hair..as you know Im not a natural redhead or the average one at that..
I love orange! Orange eye shadow, lipstick and clothes, although this is the first time Ive worn a orange as a block colour in a whole outfit before..

I must say I love this dress..the colour really pops and the heavy jersey is really flattering and will be great as the weather cools down in Autumn... I also love the unusual elbow length sleeves. I got the dress in a medium as Im not a body con/skin tight clothing girl and it was a little bit big around the waist, not wanting to take way from the simpleness of the dress with the oversized buttons I nipped in the waist with a bit of black ribbon..

Hello!! I am alive! Apologies for the lack of posts the past two days.. Im currently down
in Dublin with work and my days consist of long hours, too much coffee and tea and crashing on my hotel bed at 11pm and not waking til the next day. oh so glamorous eh?!
I come back tonight so hopefully Ill get some new outfit photos taken over the weekend..until then I thought Id share with you some photos from the Glasgowbury Festival..A local festival with loads of local talent..

The weather was great, thank goodness! I opted for high waisted shorts, knee high socks & scruffy ankle boots (in case of mud) Although when the sun went down in the evening the temperature dropped below 5oC leading me to wear every layer of clothing id brought with me and I was still cold..

Does Topshop still have this skirt in stock in other colours? Cos I really must get it! Ive worn this lemon skirt all through the summer with a combination of shirts, vests and sheer tee's.
Im refusing to get into my autumn wardrobe even though its been cold for the past month

Cant stop wearing this sheer maxi skirt...Im pondering ways of working it into my autumn wardrobe. Maybe with cropped chunky knits and flat biker boots..

But while its still (kinda) summer...I teamed it with my trusty pink waist belt, and this little lime top which has a soft self spot that you can only really notice in the close up photo...

My new hair do: Two Tone...

So I mentioned on twitter last night that I had my hair coloured..I tend to be pretty spontaneous when it comes to my hair and my hairdresser looks at me with fear when I say yea cut it all off, or yea Ive been blonde for 21 years of my life but now I wanna be a red head..

So as you can imagine she is used to me by now! I decided I wanted to add some blonde tips into my hair which Ive had before but its never been noticeable enough.. This is not quite the 'ombre trend' as it isn't the dip dye look, my hair is cut in two lengths as its so thick and the longer layer is dyed a golden blonde right up to the roots..

So what do you guys think? Im currently loving the change! :)

So..these babies are the next Take Ten Challenge..
I dunno where to begin when it comes to these shoes.. I wear a lot of patterns and prints in my clothes so I tend to wear only neutral shoes. As a result I found this challenge hard to style..not only that but they are a bit much for me..pony skin..on trend, animal print..on trend, peep toe..on trend, platform wedge..on trend.. but to have all these styles in one shoe..is..wow..one hell of a shoe!?

This post was meant to be up yesterday but life seems so hectic at the minute that its better late than never..which seems to my motto at the minute! We have an intern in at work who is shadowing me which is actually really fun but its crazy tiring! Hope you guys aren't getting sick of my outfit photos from my holiday in Crete yet?! Ive been really lazy since Ive been back in taking new photos and with the weather turning more and more cold and rainy I will definitely have to get my act together!
Ive spent my weekend relaxing in the garden, spending time with friends home from Scotland for the weekend and visiting my grandpa's..

This is one of current favourite dresses..the cut, fabric and bright thick stripes are just perfect..
also the vertical stripes on the top means the dress narrows your top half instead of making it look broader..

Thank god its Friday...urgh! What a long and tiring week at work I had... Im looking forward to letting off some steam with a trip out to a new beer garden tonight in Belfast, then maybe a picnic or cinema trip tomo depending on the weather..

Im so excited to share with you guys...Taaa daaa.. my new shiny layout!!!

What do you guys think? I just love it and think it really reflects me, which is important when your blog becomes a part of your life..I remember when I used to blog once a month now Im totally hooked!

Im just back from the Glasgowbury Music Festival and haven't slept since Friday night so Im gonna keep this post short...my bed is calling to me and my eye lids are heavy...

Another little outfit from my holiday in Crete, you'd think outfit posts on holiday would be easy but during the day its too hot and I was usually on the beach red faced and covered in sand with my hair in disarray on the top of my head..not an attractive look! Then at night the sun sets way earlier than at home so to catch photos in good light we had to head out at 7ish every night..

This is by far my favourite shirt ever.. its soft and unstructured & looks great tucked in or with leggings..if only it came is lots of colours I think id have to buy them all!

Since Ive come back from holiday Ive been trying to save my pennies.. I have 7 birthdays to buy for in August. 7!!? I mean thats just insane... Im also heading to Glasgowbury music festival this weekend which is one nights camping (which is prob all the camping I can manage) so that again will be draining the ole bank account slightly..

Seaside Spots...

This is possibly my favourite skirt ever! Long, sheer and with polka dot spots.. I have worn it at least three times since Ive got it. Its easy and effortless and kinda overly glam for my style but I love it..these photos were so much fun to take during my holiday in Crete the breeze blew the skirt into all different shapes that Dave managed to capture with my dslr.
