Home Hallway Updates...Tuesday, August 16, 2016
Home decor and interior design is something I have always had an interest in, in fact at school I dappled with the idea of doing a degree in Interior Design but in the end Fashion Design won the final vote. Even growing up my parents got the brunt of my home decor whims with me moving furniture around my room every other month and repainting my room from green to lilac to pink to... I lost track after pink...
Now I must say finally owning my home and being able to put my ideas into practice from colour choices, soft furnishings, furniture to little accessories is soooo much fun but it can also be expensive. So while I save up the money to afford the lush three seater retro sofa I want for my living room and equally expensive rug I like to move items around my home to make things feel new and different, and still satisfy my need to decorate!
I love how simply restyling my industrial console table can change the whole feeling of the hallway. You can see what it use to look like here in my Hallway Make Over post. The old typewriter use to belong to my Pop (my dad's dad) and the little gold foil print was bought on Etsy. The V & D letters were the pastel wooden letters I painted for my wedding back in 2014 and I just spray painted them copper to make them more appropriate for our home decor. The little green vase and yellow craspedia flowers are also from one of the table centres of my wedding, these flowers dry out and continue to look the same as they did fresh so I have them dotted about all over my home!
Id love to hear what you do to change things up in your home? Any tips on how to refresh a room when you get tired of it?
