Living Room Make Over...

Thursday, September 03, 2015

living-room-make-overHello Im back and still alive! Sorry its been so quiet over here! I finally have some images to share with you  guys of one room we have managed to almost complete! Our smaller living room which we like to call The Snug has had a pretty big make over. This room before had magnolia walls & blue patterned carpet both of which we wanted to change asap! We loved the fireplace so set to work deciding on colours and how to maximise the space in this little room.

living-room This is the room before hand, we forgot to snap a photo with the carpet down, but you get the idea of what the room looked like. First thing we did was order some skinny wooden floor boards in an oak shade. We chose thin boards to make the room feel bigger. Then we painted the ceilings, walls, skirting boards and radiator white. I had the curtains originally picked for our bedroom but changed my mind & decided they would be good for this room so our colour scheme flowed around yellow, mint & grey.

We chose to paint a feature wall in shade Sunny Day by Dulux. Dave & I were both worried about the shade at first (yellow is totally out of our comfort zone!) but next to the grey sofas and new floor boards it looked great! Homebase were kind enough to gift me with vouchers so I was able to buy all the paint and the cute scandi style sideboard which acts as a tv stand but with all important hidden storage below!home-decor-make-overWe still have a bit more to do. We need some picture frames and prints on the wall, maybe a few more cushions and a rug for the floor. But so far we are so pleased with how this little room has turned out!
Ive tried to list where I bought everything below, some of its new but some of it was bought last year.

  7. What an adorable makeover! I love the pop of yellow on that wall along with the other bits of yellow in the vase curtains and the pillow. Yellow and that particular shade of gray are so nice together!
