I never really thought about the irony in picking a t-shirt covered in eye balls when I was working with Cheap Monday Glasses at Specsavers, but maybe I should pretend it was my plan all along...
I have always been a huge fan of glasses. Ive worn them since I was four and although my eye sight isnt too bad Im convinced it has deteriorated over the years because I was have my glasses on.
When Specsavers asked me to pick a pair of eye glasses and sunglasses by cool Swedish brand Cheap Monday & style them up with some Cheap Monday clothes I was well up for the challenge.
The glasses I chose were these gold metal giant frames known as Rhenium, they are nothing like any other pair of glasses ( 8 pairs but who's counting?!) that I own. A metal frame instead of the popular plastic and an unusual shape that reminds me of a certain tv news presenter from the 80's. They were a risky choice as I chose them online having not tried them on. I think they are a daring shape but I love that about them, they are a conversation piece for sure.
For sunglasses I chose these john lennon-esque pair called Marble Sun, again something totally different for me but seemed fitting with the current trends where circle frames are the shape of the season. The soft brown lens are a little less stark than the dark black ones Ive seen in other shops. I styled my glasses up with this awesome Cheap Monday eyeball tee & these orange heels with an almost wedge but not quite block heel. So cool & different I thought they would work well with my choices in frames.
