Planning my wedding...Tuesday, November 20, 2012
Ive been thinking of how to incorporate talking about my wedding plans on my blog.. Its a big moment in my life and Id like to share the details with all my readers but here's the thing.
How do I do that?
I mean every girl wants her wedding day to be surprise, that those special details are kept secret. And although you guys wont be coming to the big day (sorry!) and therefore I dont have to worry about surprises being ruined, a few of my good friends do read my blog.. and for them I want the secrets hidden until the day. So Ive decided to share a few key details here & some rough ideas Im thinking about but aren't certain..Then of course ill share everything after the big day. (which by the way isn't for ages! lol)
So first things first.. the date has been set. Dave & I really wanted a spring time wedding & May tends (fingers crossed) to be better chance of reasonable weather. Plus flowers are of massive importance to me ( my mum is a wedding florist) and I worked in florists throughout school & college & all my flowers are in season in May. Above is a little stamp I got custom made with our initials & the date. I thought it would be nice to stamp on the backs of the invitation envelopes.
My sister got me this book as a gift & Ive used it for reference so many times already. Creating hand made details is something I really want to do.
Yay the venue is booked!! This place is called Larchfield Estate and is an amazing estate house with beautiful gardens (with donkeys & alpaca's!) and converted barn & stables. This beautiful location is just miles from my house and a location I drive past all the time & it has always been in my head as a dream wedding location.
Luckily Dave adored it too! What I particularly loved bar the beautiful views were the different areas for guest to mingle & explore- the walled & sunken garden, old winery greenhouse, courtyard area & stables.
This kind of gives you the overall feel I want to achieve for the wedding..Dave & I are both very relaxed and dont want to have a big formal do...something a little whimsical & fun that makes our guests smile. I guess everyone says they want their day to be unique..huh?
Ive been storing all my wedding inspiration in this old picnic hamper... heres a sneak peek at a few little bits & pieces Ive been using as inspiration. So there you have it! My wedding plans so far.
Let me know if you like this post & if you'd like to see more of this kind of thing & ill work on keeping you as updated as I can about my planning.
Also you can see all my wedding pins on my pinterest. :)
