Ive decided after two long weekends, far too much chocolate and far too much alcohol to try eating better. Im not going on a diet just to be clear but I wanna be more healthy and maybe dare I say it get in shape..
I wouldnt say im a bad eater.. i dont like take aways, or fatty foods but i LOOOVE sweets! and coke is my major weakness..I use to drink a bottle of full fat coke every day until it started affecting the enamel on my teeth..The thing is as soon as I say im gonna eat better I crave everything bad for me..right now I know there is a chocolate twirl bar sitting in my fridge and I really want it! If anyone has any tips or healthy recipes please let me know!
I started tonight, by having a chicken salad for dinner, with peppers, tomato, mixed leaves, chicken, cucumber, french dressing and a litte parmesan. Was pretty tasty..but will i be hungry again in an hour is the question!

  2. looking lovely as ever, glad you had a good time travelling around the west of ireland. I really haven't seen much of the south which is a shame because it sounds so beautiful. I know what you mean about craving stuff as soon as you say your going to cut down, it sucks =(

  3. I post recipes that are generally healthy nearly daily.
Though I am working on a Take-away theme this week. http://irishwishesarespecial.blogspot.com/2011/05/this-weeks-menu.html

Nothing greasy, lots of veggies. I'm putting up the calorie count as I actually cook them. Should have my own pictures once the sun comes back out lol!

  7. Love this outfit. I'm trying to lose weight and I find the best thing to do if you have a sweet tooth is just not have temptations in the house. Generally sweet stuff doesn't bother me but if it's there I want it!! Also because your cutting down on meal sizes I find I do tend to get peckish later on so now we get healthy snacks I can have if I'm hungry such as rivitas. Good luck xxx

  8. ANGEL DELIGHT. When I get a craving for sweet things, I eat Angel Delight- surprisingly low cal/sugar and they do a light version too.

Loving the outfit, the orange is beautiful on you.

I just got back to uni today, having over indulged in frightening cocktails this weekend and having been fed by my dad for 3 weeks. Although my mum and dad eat healthily, I always over eat when I'm home. I reckon a bit of what you fancy, but moderately is the way forward.

You're so good at accessorising! :) The top is lovely. Did you buy that recently from Topshop?

  19. This is a really cute outfit. I love the colours. I have the same problems as you. I don't eat too bad, but I do love candy and chocolate! I think the trick is not to deny yourself all the time, otherwise when you do give in you eat even more chocolate then you intended.

  22. If you're still craving your sweet things when trying to be healthier... cheat! Bake cakes with sugar alternatives and use flora light instead of butter. It's still cake at the end of the day but better then a full fat version.

  26. good for you for trying to be healthy! I think it's fine to cheat on the weekends, but during the week, I'm hardcore! =p I LOVE that top. The color is fabulous. Especially with that lovely cardigan. I feel like I"m always saying that the color you are wearing goes awesome with your hair every time. Seriously EVERY color looks great with your hair.

  30. I love the colour scheme here, and such a pretty location! Nice job on the healthy eating, I do that too and to be honest one of my favourite things is chicken salad - and it fills me up! My version: chicken, olives, avocado, tomato, salad leaves, scoop of guacamole, balsmic & olive oil dressing x

  33. You look great here. It's such a perfect, casual outfit. The red looks great, and I love your sunglasses.
I'm awful at eating healthier! I eat sweets and chocolates all the time. Fruit is a good snacking alternative though!

  34. oooh vicki - you look so lovely! The colours in these photographs are gorgeous too.
ahaaa, i tried to be healthy with a salad yesterday too...turns out my brain races to the opposite thing and craves chocolate as soon as i have anything vaguely healthy! I may or may not have gobbled up some easter chocolate..oops! x

  35. Gorgeous :) especially loving your shoes, thought they'd be Topshop not M&S, might have to hunt them down since the Topshop ones are pretty extortionate.
I switched to Diet Coke after realising I probably have enough sugar without all the sugar in coke! Not as nice tasting but you deffo get used to it xx

  44. Looking gorgeous as always, lady! Can I ask - are your sunglasses prescription or do you wear lenses for them? Currently trying to decide between the two!

Healthy eating... it's hard work! My downfall is snacking, particularly at work. Do you have an iPhone? I have an app called My Fitness Pal which I use to track the calories I've eaten. That helps! x

  45. Don't want to be annoying and be all 'read my blog' but me and four other bloggers have set up a blog- http://www.wherearemyknees.blogspot.com/ and it's about getting healthy and it's got recipes and lots of other lovely things on there, might help :) xx

  46. I have such a sweet tooth too! I justify it by eating almost nothing but healthy meals full of veggies and fruit. If you find a good resource for healthy foods please do share. I've had the best luck using vintage cook books and then putting my own twist on things (lessing or omiting the butter and salt, using olive oil instead of other oils, adding greens, peppers or squash and using lots of spices).

  47. Wonderful colours, lovely with your hair!

Good luck with the healthy eating, I know those cravings of sweet sweet things... And the moment when I ponder: Really, I shouldn't... But I deserve it! :) Boy it's hard getting over that feeling! :)
