For some reason I can not draw glasses to save my life..I attempted it here but def need more practice!
For some reason I can not draw glasses to save my life..I attempted it here but def need more practice!

This sketch was done on my lunch break in work so just on standard printer paper alas you can see the water has puckered the paper..but I wanted to share it anyway..
The photos that inspired this sketch will be up tomorrow so be sure to stop by again and see what you think :)
Also I want to pick your brains about something..Ive mentioned a couple of times that Im currently working on a new blog layout and wanted to ask you guys your opinion on index pages?
So when you click on a blog you only see one image from the post and below it says click here to see more..do you like this idea or hate it?
The idea is to make the blog load quicker so you are not waiting for ages for all the images from maybe 5 posts on the page to load up..but do you think it saves you hassle or adds to it?
Blogs who have index pages inc prettyshinysparkly and style scrapbook..

Love the sketch, I really should get back into drawing...i miss it :(
ReplyDeleteand personally I can't stand index pages but I guess im essentially very impatient. I can understand how it would be annoying if your comp was slow to load but mine is super fast so I dont have this problem anyway...so - boo to indexs! Xxx
Oh I'm looking forward to the outfit photos - it looks gorgeous, especially hair and tights/socks (not quite sure what they are!)
ReplyDeleteHonestly it doesn't bother me either way. I click through to an individual post, not the blog as a whole so I don't tend to get any problems with pages loading slowly etc.
i love this sketch. The balloons are pretty! But in terms of the index...I really don't like it! There was one blog I was following, and used to always read their posts, then they changed to the index idea, and i've totally given up, it's really difficult to actually find the most resent post. But if you do it in a really clear way it could work. I really love your colour scheme at the moment though...and I don;t think your blog loads slowly at all! it's one of the fastest that I follow! X
ReplyDeleteGah. You're so talented! Can't believe this was done on your lunch break - it's stunning :)
ReplyDeletePersonally I'm not keen on indexing- I find it stops me from reading the post all the way through; having the full post up means you can get a sort of full snapshot before reading through properly... although I suppose the very purpose of indexing is to give a quick snapshot! Apologies, I've not explained this v well, but basically I normally find it more of a hassle than a help :)

I'm coming to love these sketchesthey're a great and unique feature!
ReplyDeleteWith regard to the index pages- I hate them, I'd rather spend a few extra seconds waiting for a page to load with the 5 full posts rather than have to click and wait again for a post to load seperately. Having the full post loaded straight away also means you can give something a brief read through and decided whether to come back to it later if you want to.

ReplyDeleteI agree with the person above I find myself less inclined to read a blog that I'm coming to for the first time if i have to click on individual posts. I read you blog through bloglovin so it isn't an issue for me as someone who already reads your blog but it can be a barrier to new readers.

Your sketch is great! I cant wait to see the outfit!
ReplyDeleteTo be honest, I find it quite annoying to have to click to see the rest of a post because then once your done with reading that post you might want to go to another post, but have to go back and reload 2 pages to do that (which none of what I've wrote probably makes no sense at all haha) but I follow through bloglovin so it doesnt really matter to me.
love the sketch, you really are brilliant at drawing!
ReplyDeleteYou're so so so talented! This illustration looks beautiful. As far as index goes, I prefer to see the whole post but thats just my opinion. Thanks for the email sweetie. Im looking forward to seeing the outfit!
ReplyDeletethis is amazing, you are so talented! i think you should add more of these to your blog, it makes it even more special xx
ReplyDeletesketch is amazing!
ReplyDeletefor the 'click more' blogs, i generally dont tend to click on them, because it's just a bit of hassle you know? but im sure whatever you decide'll be v. successful!

ReplyDeletepersonally i don't like index pages... but it for sure helps for the loading of pages...
ReplyDeleteBUT BUT BUT it does annoy the ones reading your blog... that was the feedback i got from people reading my blog when it was such!
xoxo
Love this sketch :) I personally dont like index pages...I think clicking through to each new page/post distracts from the overall contents of the blog... but its up to you! :) x
ReplyDeleteoh it looks so cute, your sketches are amazing lovely
ReplyDeleteaw the sketch is adorable. so cute. not a fan of index pages really, i'd prefer to just see everything and wait a little longer! but i am quite lazy.. hmm xo

It is beautiful and I think you are so talented. I have wished I was good at sketching for most of my life but I am terrible.
