The Asos Cape

Thursday, January 27, 2011

So im incredibly late in the day with this post, but better late than never eh?
Its time for another Take Ten challenge this time the fabulous Asos were our sponsors and when they offered to send us a coat, we all got excited..Even more so when this cape was one of the choices how could we pick anything else!?
The camel cape was/is such a must have item this winter and after wearing this I can see why.
You can throw it over anything, a dress, a jumper, another coat if you need extra warmth and it basically feels like you are wearing a fashionable blanket around..(win win in my book!)

Cape: Asos, Cardigan: Primark, Velvet leggings: River Island, Floral tunic c/o Matalan, Red heels: New Look.

Apologies for these dire photos, they were taken yesterday in a hurry!
I love the over sized hood on this cape the most, when I slip it up I feel like little red riding hood. hence the picnic basket in the photos..im off to visit grandma through the woods.. lol..

Here is how the other lovely ladies tackled their capes.
Jazmine, Jen, Adele,Mj, Ellie, Sabine, Sarah, Sherin Paula and me!

What do you think of the cape? Is it a trend you'd try or steer clear of?

  4. It looks gorgeous on you but I am always wary of capes, I think there's too much material which can make me look short and stumpy which is not ideal, haha! :)

  5. I love it! I've had my eye on one of the capes in urban outfitters for a while but have been kind of hesitant because i'm scared it will make me look massive!

  25. the cape is an excellent item of clothing. it may not be the most shaped piece of clothing, nor the most flattering to curves, but it's comfortable and it looks flattering. whereas draping usually makes you look large, the cape really just looks like comfortable fashion. i adore mine, and i hope everyone buys into the cape.

  35. I too love the cape - mine's from H&M, however I can't seem to get out of my (faux) fur in this freezing cold weather!
the cape shape is so flattering, slimming the legs - looks fab with leggings and biker boots - elegant when teamed with shoe boots and skinnys.
Have to keep the bottom half slimline though for a flattering silhouette
