Wait in line..until you're NEXT...

So its that time again.. another Take Ten Challenge, and this month it really was a challenge for all of us! We were asked to pick an item from Next's Winter collection but unfortunately the piece we picked went out of stock quickly so they chose this jumper for us..
When it first arrived it screamed several different things to me... oh its striped which is pretty on trend all yr round, oh its made of metallic thread which is another great trend for winter..
oh it has rips and holes in it..very grunge..very current..and it has a diagonal hem..again a feature making an appearance on alot of knitwear this winter.. But my problem is why decide to out all these features into one jumper!? its total overkill in my opinion..

OK to be a like more positive the gold/rust metallic thread running through it is a lovely touch and would be great for Christmas time and I really liked the colour with my rusty orange hair..apologies for the black & white photos, but it rained constantly the day the photos had to be taken so photos where taken inside against my hall wall which is a bright shade fo orange. It didnt do the jumper any favours!

I thought this item would be hard to style but with a black stripe running through it, I knew it would go with anything black in my wardrobe. I chose black shorts: Miss Selfridge, heart tights: Topshop, a slim line blazer: Zara, brogue wedges: Aldo and a bowler hat: Asos.

Check out how the other girls styled it! Unfort poor Saskia had to drop out of Take Ten due to Uni commitments so Welcome our new gal Jazmine!!

I really like your outfit ^^ It reminded me of a mix between Liza Minnelli http://www.glamourvanity.com/images/liza-minnelli-cabaret.jpg , and an edge of Clockwork Orange http://www.neenja.com/articleimages/clockwork_orange.jpg :p
I also like 2 girls style from that collage, on the first row, the 2 girl on the right :D

Oh no, I hate the jumper! You've done a great job of styling it up and you look cute but the jumper is nasty-tastic!

You guys do not seemly overly impressed with this jumper but I totally love it and I know what you mean about all the detail but that is what I like about it I have to say it is very me. You styled it beautifully and these pictures are stunning, out of interest what was the original item that sold out????

Even though it wasn't our favourite piece you've done a marvellous job, and as you said - it was actually easy to style it. xo

i adore these photographs! i definately agree that your hat makes this entire outfit :) i also agree that all of the features on the jumper were just too much, but we all styled it so well in the end! xxx

You've hit on it exactly Vicki, overkill!
Still it looks so much better hidden under a blazer, and your hat is loverly!

YOu are looking amazing :) I really love the hat !

I think the problem with brands like Next is that they try so hard to make something 'on trend' that it just turns into overkill!

However, you have done very well...and I am loving that bowler hat! :) x

I think you've covered it up very nicely ;-) Considering that none of you seem overly keen on it, you've all styled it beautifully.

I don't have a problem with overkill as it seems be be my general style (ha!), but it does seem an odd choice for ten different people to style to their own personalities. Nevertheless, you've all done a great job - I love the bowler hat and blazer combo.
