In need of a fairy godmother...

Wednesday, September 22, 2010

The past month seems to have passed in a daze..seriously is it almost October?

The next month for me is pretty busy too.. with engagement parties, Halloween costumes to plan, homework to do (now that Ive enrolled in a photography GCSE night class!! eek!) and I'm currently helping organise a charity fashion show, organising the choreography, running order, and have even been roped into modelling in it myself I'm afraid to say.. a week after the fashion show I have a Ball to go to! How fun! :) Its also a charity event and Ive been told its black tie formal. I have no time to shop for a dress so I am resorting to online shopping! Here are some pretty little things Ive seen so far....

This at the minute is my first choice.. ASOS corset dress but at £85, can i justify buying it to maybe never wear again?

Teal chiffon kaftan number also ASOS more reasonable £55.. think the cut of it would be very flattering and slimming too..which is always a plus!

Now this I have no intention of buying even thou I LOVE it!! I just had to show it cos its sooo pretty.. but at £120 its more than im willing to spend and the side slit is a little too high for a charity ball im thinking.. Its also ASOS, colour: black orchid..

This little beauty has been featured on my blog before its by Matalan, I love the print, the chiffon material and the ragged hem and at under £40 its the best priced long dress ive come across so far...

I cant decide what i think of this dress..love the velvet..love the colour.. its by Aqua Warrior and is £80..

Really what I need is a fairy godmother to whip me up something special so I dont have to go on the hunt for the perfect dress..anyone know one off hand? :)

  1. I really think the last one would look amazing on you. The colour and the cut. I can so imagine this with your hair piled high on your head. Gorgeous.

The first is lovely, and you could always alter it for other occasions by pinning the back length up.

  8. Oh, Vicki, gorgeous! How exciting! Personally I would go for number 2, because I feel like you could wear it a lot more places, and just glam it up with jewelry for the night. Either way, can't WAIT to see the photos that I know are coming! XX!

  11. I can definitely see the last one on you too! I'm liking the second one at the mo... it's very elegant and sophisticated and understated. Perfect for a charity ball I think!

  12. I ordered the first one in black a while ago and it defiantly isnt worth the money. I find ASOS clothes are sometimes very bad quality for the price and this is one of them its fits great, but it just isnt worth the money.

I think im a fan of the sequin one the most. but again I bet it wouldn't be worth the price tag!

  13. I've been trawling ASOS for fancy dresses too - the teal maxi dress was one of my top choices and I very nearly indulged but I wear posh dresses so rarely I couldn't justify the cost! Love all your choices... but the first is my favourite! x

  14. I LOVE the first dress & the second dress. So, price & practicality wise, I'd probably go for the second one, personally..

Can't wait to see what you choose :)

  15. I love the first one! I think it's quite versatile too - you could dress it down Balmain style with some military boots, or hitch up the skirt to make it shorter, should be pretty easy to do :)

I actually bought the second one a while ago but returned it as it didn't suit me at all...though it is lovely! xx

  23. the first one is absolutely gorgeous! so stunning. i have to say, the second one is actually my favourite. it's so elegant but really simple, which means you can dress it up even more by piling on the jewelry - i also love the sleeves, and the colour would look AMAZING with red hair. if the third one didn't have the high slit, i would definitely say go with that one, it's a gorgeous colour!

  27. I love the first two dresses - but definitely only buy these if you'll wear them again. It's so not worth buying something you'll only wear once (and don't forget you can always accessorize).
