Plain or Plaid?

Monday, August 24, 2009

I have recently come across this beautiful blog by Aya and she recently did a post about this lovely plaid dress, i was inspired so much by this pictures that i wanted to do my own version of a plaid dress, in my own style.

This is what i came up with, Aya teamed her lovely dress with some flat brogues, mine are patent with a small heel from New Look. Aya also teamed hers with an ankle length sock, i decided on knee high black socks from Urban Outfitters. The dress im wearing is from Asos, i love it cos it has big deep pockets in the sides which is great for storing all the rubbish i carry about on a daily basis! The handbag is heart shaped handbag by Topshop.

I also wanted to say thank you to Tink in my Closet and Sunflares Plethora for giving me these lovely awards, I promise to tag some lovely blogs with these awards the next chance i get! xx

  12. I have a funny love/hate relationship with plaid. I always think I don't like it, but one of my favourite dresses is a plaid cotton summer dress I got at the church rummage sale near my parents' summer home years ago.
Can't wait to see Aya's site, and I love both looks (she's wearing what look like vintage 'saddle shoes' as they were called in America! That look, with 'Bobby Socks', is what all teenage girls wore circa 1940s. Very cool to find & pay homage to that look, haven't seen it in years).

However, I just LOVE your look because a)I love your orange red hair and b)I love warm orange/red with hot pink. And the heeled brogues with black knee socks.. it's my favourite 'bullfighters' combination of colours!! Been posting on that a lot: few people wear it, and it's such a great combination (hot pink, orange/red, some black, and tan - or just skin tones. And/or some warm yelllow sand tone).

Bravo! Just wish the shots were a bit bigger.

How you feeling, Vik? Sorry for the long sign-off, I can't seem to take away that long long name! : )
